Saudi surgeons save mother’s arm after total amputation

A pregnant woman in Jeddah was rushed to the emergency room after being run over while trying to cross a busy street. On Tuesday the 27th, the woman arrived at King Abdulaziz Hospital in Jeddah in critical condition, with a completely severed arm. Thanks to the efficiency of emergency and medical personnel, both the woman and her fetus were saved after the incident, after a 6 hour surgery to reattach the woman’s arm.

Despite severe trauma, both the mother and fetus are expected to make a full recovery, with the mother’s arm expected to return to complete functionality. The mother was allowed to leave the hospital as her and the unborn baby’s condition is stable.
