How personal is personal growth?

Mankind is known to love routine. We follow a routine in almost every aspect of our lives. From how our day is going to go, to how we get ready for bed. We are so use to the usual. It is exactly this innate factor that influences personal growth. How many times do we hear the phrases: “What is wrong, you seem different? Is everything fine?” only to realize that you do not have an answer.

Now you start to feel as if something is wrong, because you cannot point out what has changed. And right there the self-doubt kicks in. “Am I fine? Is everything okay?” You start to question yourself.

So, how do one prevent this from happening?

It is important to first analyze where you are in life. Analyze every aspect and take note of what you are happy with and what you feel needs attention. If you are between jobs, or between relationships, you may be a bit emotionally off.

Secondly, ask yourself: Who is asking these questions? By trying to help, people tend to bud their noses in to the business of others and end up creating problems that was never there to start with.

The most important thing you need to do, is to accept yourself. This is both scary and exhilarating. Only when you have made peace with your body, both physically and spiritually, you can grow.  You have the power to grow through what you go through. It is scary to feel insecure and confused, but it is very important for us to go through these phases in our lives. No one can really tell you how you need to react, think and feel.

It turns out that personal growth is exactly what it says: personal.
