Pretty sure as the world develops, nail care and trends will definitely make history. The evolution of nail fashion has gone from bright vivid colors, to texture, shine and even jewels, however, one thing will remain the same, your first time with a nail technician who understands your crazy mind creativity and translates that onto your nail.

But what draws me to a monthly professional nail care regime, is just that, professional. It’s important for you to care for your nails daily, however, once a month if not more, it’s imperative you put your trust in a nail care expert to make sure you’re cleaning your cuticles and nails thoroughly.
Recently, I had the opportunity to sit down with a nail technician at Beautopia. Her impeccably clean nails told me I was in safe hands, literally. She walked me through the process, told me how long it’d take and also made sure I knew how to take care of them once I left the salon.
Here are some things I learned if you like your gel / polygel / acrylic manicure to last longer:
- Ensure you moisturize your fingertips, it’s important to keep them soft.
- Carry a hand sanitizer wherever you are and use it after food consumption.
- Be careful when picking up things or putting on clothes, it’s easy to knick a nail and while it won’t break out, it can be painful.
So as my pretty marble nails were done, I felt incredibly confident, pushed my hair back and couldn’t stop staring at them!

As we all know acrylics and gel can be harmful, in that, the concentration of UV rays on your fingertips aren’t the best idea in the long run, polygel hardens under regular LED light.
