Pure Yoga + Cycle (PYC), the Kingdom’s only premiere hot yoga studio and only licensed spinning facility, has started 2019 with a bang.

Aside from a packed schedule and new classes, they’ve have added more activities: yoga teacher training and out-of-country yoga retreats and workshops.

Manager Kina says: “One of our goals for 2019 is to get involved in more activities and partnerships to spread the importance of exercising through fun/motivating classes.
“One of the reasons for PYC’s success over the years is the warm atmosphere where everyone is each other’s best friend. We provide a ‘home’ wherein everyone is relaxed and happy and we aim to maintain this environment.”

This month PYC will launch its third wave of training. This is basic, but intensive yoga course for those who want to deepen their yoga practice, get to know the history and philosophy of yoga, learn yogic anatomy and understand the influence of asana practice on the human body. This course is especially dedicated to people who want to start teaching yoga and need the appropriate certification, however everyone is welcome.

Week 1
Introduction to the course and to the yoga teaching profession. Explanation of the history and various definitions/styles of yoga, starting with Hatha Yoga, the most traditional form present in the contemporary world. This week presents principles of alignment and hands-on adjustments, discusses the main tasks of a yoga teacher, and introduces anatomy and physiology.

In this week you start teaching – in pairs and small groups, getting simple tasks at first, and starting to find your inner voice as a teacher. Yoga philosophy classes focus on different traditions and schools of thought about yoga, preparing for the further Patanjali 8 Limbs System.

Through the entire process some classes are based on gentle, restorative and yin yoga sequences, bringing a nice nourishment and regeneration after the long day. Sometimes they also introduce various meditation techniques, chanting and partner yoga classes.

Week 2
Exposes Vinyasa Flow yoga in its traditional and contemporary forms. It presents the roots of this style as well as including modern Vinyasa flows that are often mixed with improvisation, dance, music or martial arts. Vinyasa is the most popular style in West due to its beautiful freedom, interdisciplinary aspects, and allowing modern yogis space for their personalities, “likes” and self-expression.

This week focusses on sequencing yoga classes, teaching methodology, communication skills and anatomy in action.

Week 3
Is dedicated to Shivananda Yoga – the style that truly revolutionised yoga and brought it on a large scale to the West. The course teaches basics of The Primary Series, with modifications for all level students, and introduces the teaching methodology behind this style – which will allow you to understand the sequence, and to teach Shivananda safely to others.

PYC believes in non-violence and non-injury policy, so every session is also accessible to those who are not super flexible or strong yet, and they offer personal adjustments and modifications if needed! In this week you develop your teaching skills, as well as hands-on adjustments and anatomy knowledge.

As the very important background PYC provides a real yoga and yogic philosophy experience with a group of versatile teachers who live a yogic lifestyle and their classes truly have inspired many!

Week 4
Is a revision of the whole process – students teach classes of all the styles taught by PYC yoga team, share their knowledge and gained skills, write their assignments. It is also the time for question and answer sessions, a workshop on business and ethical aspects of the yoga teaching profession, and additional classes.

All-level Specialisation:
No specific prior experience is required, however, PYC recommends to have some yoga practice before joining its Yoga TTC.

To successfully complete the course 100 per cent attendance to all the classes is required.
The website and booking system at www.pycbh.com have also had an upgrade, so log on and book your next class or course!
