Night gowns and delicate lingerie are no longer items exclusive to the bedroom.  This trend, which first emerged in last season’s shows, is now very much present in most of the brands’ spring and summer collections. From high-end fashion houses to street casual, underclothes are the star for lots of looks.

Lacy details found on spaghetti-strap tops will be the highlight of any outfit throughout the hot season. They come in a variety of colours, but the most popular picks are black and white. A full set of long sleeves and pyjama pants in satin and silk fabric is another fashionable choice that you’re likely to see on the streets. It might seem awkward at first, but stylish women all over the globe are embracing this comfy and unusual attire whether it be at plush events or a casual dinner.

Dolce & Gabbana went for a bold floral and blue, pyjama-inspired look in its Italian show. Alexander Wang and Calvin Klein Collection opted for a night gown look with long satin/silk dresses. Givenchy created a jaw-dropping top that can easily transform and upgrade any ordinary bottom.

Light Vs Heavy

A smart way of wearing this trend is to pair the lightweight top with a leather skirt or jacket – yes, leather is going to be easy to find on the racks this season. The contrast of different textures and materials helps you stand out from the crowd. Faux leather has a lighter feel so it can be a better choice; also opt for different colours like camel, which will make your look even more stylish.
