Ramadan is in full swing, giving us all an opportunity to reflect and relax a little as well as enjoying great get- togethers with family and friends as we sample the island’s many fabulous Iftars and Ghabgas. Needless to say WTM has been to lots of them and, in our food pages, you’ll find some of the ones we recommend.

This special month is also the time when the Kingdom’s auto dealers go into overdrive (pun fully intended) with loads of special offers on new cars. That, coupled with the momentous occassion of women finally getting the right to drive across the causeway, prompted us to revive our annual Women on Wheels feature. We’ve come up with a host of dos and don’ts that we should all remember, whether seasoned motorists or newbies behind the wheel.

The interview section this month features a mixed bunch including cover star, Sasha, AKA Pearlyn Mehta. It’s hard to believe that she used to sit downstairs and sell advertising in this very office! We also spoke to Nikita Boloor about all things spiritual and caught up with former island resident, DJ Kiwi, who’s now making waves and music on the White Isle.

As always, the fashion pages are packed with Fernanda’s ideas for you to try – I’m particularly keen to get my hands on some of the New Hippie pieces she’s managed to drum up for the Get The Look pages. I also took the opportunity this month to check out some of the many Ramadan capsule collections — hope you like my choices, let me know what you think.

If the arrival of summer has inspired you to change your look with a different hair colour, make sure to check out the tips from celeb stylists Asgar Saboo, who shares no-dye options for both lightening and darkening your locks — nothing for redheads unfortunately, but maybe that’s a good thing!

As always, there’s travel and homes and much, much more. Have a look and let me know what you think either on social media or write to [email protected]
