Fernanda LanghammerIt’s a celebratory month! Our magazine is reaching the milestone of 150 uninterrupted issues (which means that we’ve been in the market for about 12 and half years). We thought of various ways of creating a publication that our readers wouldn’t forget. So we’ve combined our July and August issues to deliver a special product. We also decided to pay tribute to our past covers, bringing at least one from each year since our launch in 2003. And finally the best gift (from us to you), 15 pages containing 150 Island Pearls. You’ll find things to do, see, try and buy all hand-picked for you. This is an issue to keep at hand for those days when you’re looking for something to do or a great restaurant to explore and also if you’re looking for a cool place to buy something to add to your wardrobe or home. We’ve also come up with a selection of fitness centres and medical care providers, so your health is covered too!

However, even though it’s our birthday, we’ve got much more to offer! Did you know Bahrain has a thriving community of game developers? And that interesting women are part of this group? Check our interview with four of them in our People section. Also, our editorial director Liz O’Reilly spoke to Aliya Ahmad, an artist who specialises in clay and wants to use her talent to help her community.

In fashion, denim is a practical fabric to wear for casual days, enjoy Woman this Month’s tips on how to wear it in our Get the Look page. Chuck out your boring jeans (or at least put them in the drawer) and use this versatile fabric in lots of different ways.

Our Travel pages are perfect for a family holiday. You will find that some grown-up destinations have hidden (and some not that hidden) places to entertain your little ones. In Incredible Escapes, Ankita Mamgain selected five amusement parks across the world to catch your attention.

Happy reading!
