Weddings are a thing of beauty – a time to come together and celebrate the marriage of two minds, souls and spirits. But they can also be stressful, with much of the dilemma coming in the form of hairstyles and dress choice. It’s important for the bridesmaids to adequately complement the style of the bride, showcasing superb takes on the latest bridal trends.

As we head into the autumn wedding season, Asgar Saboo gives his take on the perfect bridesmaid hair trends. This easy-to-follow guide will have everyone looking the part on the bride’s big day.

Add a Hair Band
This is a simple and effective trick which works with a great dress. It’s perfect for warm weather and oozes class. Think Greek goddess. Beautiful hair bands are the simple and effective way to add consistency between bridesmaids who might have different hair lengths, types and looks.

Waterfall Braid
For the free-spirited bohemian wedding, I usually recommend my clients to choose beach waves for the bridesmaid’s hairstyle. However, there are a few more options that you can consider. I am obsessed with the waterfall braid incorporated into the ‘cool girl’ beach waves look. This adds extra texture, suits most bridesmaids and looks all round exquisite. And the best part is – it’s easy to recreate.
Step 1:
Apply heat-protecting spray and blow-dry hair as usual.
Step 2:
Apply texturing spray to the lengths of the hair and use wide-barrelled wand to create loose beachy waves. Don’t worry about getting each wave perfect. This look works the best with hair call ‘messy-neat’.
Step 3:
Apply lightweight hairspray to secure waves.
Step 4:
Now it’s the time for the waterfall part. Start by taking a big section in front and separating it into three strands.
Step 5:
Take the back strand and cross it over the middle. Next take the front strand and cross it over the middle.
Step 6:
Now take the back section and add a little section of hair into it. Cross this back strand (with added new section) over the middle.
Step 7:
Leave the front strand as it is and take a section of hair behind the front strand and cross it over the middle
Step 8:
Repeat the same steps all the way to the back of the head and secure with an elastic band.
Step 9:
Spray hairspray again.
Top tip:
For a more sophisticated and classic look, create this waterfall look on the sleek hair.

Floating Flowers
I love the floating flowers look and they look amazing as part of the ponytail. To achieve this look your bridesmaid’s will have to follow these simple steps:
Step 1:
Blow-dry the hair as normal. Don’t forget to apply heat protection beforehand, as you don’t want any damaged hair. Try doing a hair mask beforehand or simply sleep with coconut oil in your hair. This will ensure the style looks healthy, shiny and all around jaw-dropping.
Step 2:
Apply texturing spray to the roots for added texture and volume.
Step 3:
Use a wide-barrelled wand to curl the hair if it’s lacking a natural curl already.
Step 4:
Divide hair into a middle parting and tie it back in a low ponytail. Use invisible thin ties – you can get those from most pharmacies or beauty shops.
Step 5:
Add flowers for the finishing touch. To make sure they, stay glue them to the hair using hair glue.
Spray lightweight hairspray to make sure the style lasts and to limit those fly-aways.
If the wedding takes place in the hot climate, don’t forget to apply anti-humidity spray.

Top tip:
Flowers should be placed randomly. Don’t overthink.
