I’ll let you in on a secret – I absolutely love facials! And when the assistant spa manager, in this case Joie, at Dessange Paris Bahrain, is as excited as you are about a particular treatment, it’s bound to be well worth a try. Leaving me in the expert hands of my friendly therapist, Soknang, Joie assured me that this radiance-enhancing facial was one I hadn’t tried before and that it was ‘special’!
Soknang began by removing my make-up using Bi’Phasic eye and lip cleansing water, followed by Perle De Beauté Velvet Cleansing Milk. With this step, I had taken the plunge into what would be one of the most luxurious treatments I have tried. She then used Perle De Beauté Gentle Radiance – a revealing toner – to help purify and refine the skin’s texture. My 75 minutes of pampering had barely started and my skin was already feeling supple.
Next up was Instant De Beauté exfoliating mask with enzymatic action. Usually, I dread this part as I have extremely sensitive skin and anything of the ‘exfoliating’ nature really aggravates it, so I considered this part of the facial with slight apprehension. Soknang put me at ease. She assured me it would be gentle and proceeded with the first phase of massaging the product in circular motions with her fingertips until the texture liquified, leaving it on for five minutes before rinsing. For the next phase, she emulsified the formula with water, then cleansed it with warm mitts. I was pleasantly surprised at how kind this whole procedure was on my complexion and how it left it feeling refreshed and hydrated.
After this deep cleansing routine, I enjoyed a light steam on my face whilst Soknang massaged my head, and proceeded to extraction on the T-zone area. Once all the impurities were banished, she used the toner again and sprayed my skin with Dessange Orange Blossom water. The scent was absolutely heavenly and put me in pure relaxation mode.
As if this wasn’t enough, what followed almost sent me into a deep slumber as Soknang massaged my face and shoulders with a luxurious cream concoction. Now, most therapists are very skilled at this as it’s one of the most crucial steps to giving you that magical glow. Don’t ask me what was different, but I’ve never quite experienced such sheer relaxation as I did with this massage – it was by far my favourite part of the treatment.
After this rejuvenating session, I was treated to Booster De Beauté lifting radiance serum, ideal for re-plumping, lifting and reviving the complexion. Then came the pièce de résistance – Vital’Up radiance peel-off mask with island fruits. It felt as luxurious as it sounds and after 10 minutes of working its wonder, my skin felt wonderful and refreshed.
For the final touches, Soknang applied Révélation Jeunesse anti-ageing eye and lip cream and finished with Sos Détox moisturiser, which gave my skin a more radiant and luminous feel.
Best recommended as a regular skincare treatment for renewing the skin’s natural glow and brightness, it’s no wonder that this facial is also part of the Dessange Bridal package.
After a long day at work, I couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing treatment and one that made me radiate with a luminescent glow – a win-win, I’d say.
