Fashion company NET-A-PORTER celebrated the launch of the PORTER podcast series by hosting an Incredible Woman Talk with podcast guest Zainab Salbi in conversation with Editor in Chief, Sarah Bailey last week.

The event, held at private members club NeueHouse, NoMad, New York, coincided with International Women’s Day, featured a fireside chat between the women’s rights activists.

Salbi recounted her remarkable journey from growing up in Iraq in the shadow of Saddam Hussein, to her eventual move to the U.S., founding Women for Women International and becoming a celebrated author and journalist.

Guests in attendance were treated to a preview of the Podcast series Pieces of Me: My Life in Seven Garments ahead of the official launch on Wednesday. During the event, Salbi discussed two of the most seminal items of clothing and what was happening in her life at the time, before opening up to the audience for a Q&A.

Pieces of Me: My Life in Seven Garments will launch weekly every Wednesday from March 11 until April 22. The series will feature life reflections from seven ‘Incredible Women’ who recount defining moments from their life through the clothing they wore at the time. Conversations range from luminaries such as Tracee Ellis Ross (who opens the series) to Halima Aden, Sinéad Burke and more.
