As women, our vaginal health is an important part of our total well-being. And talking about vaginal health doesn’t have to be uncomfortable. In fact, we all experience vaginal health issues from time to time, and it’s completely normal.

The body, including the vagina and urinary tract, contains complex, finely-balanced ecosystems where beneficial bacteria keep disease-causing organisms in check. When these systems are thrown out of balance, conditions like urinary tract infections, yeast infections or bacterial vaginosis can result.

Daily Care and Maintenance
There are also some daily habits that will help you maintain feminine wellness:
• Avoid douching as it increases the PH of your vagina
• Avoid using feminine deodorant sprays, scented pads or tampons, coloured or perfumed toilet paper, bubble bath or scented body wash
• Always wipe from front to back
• Wear cotton underwear during the day to let your skin breathe
• Avoid wearing tight pants, pantyhose, swimsuits, biking shorts or leotards for long periods
• Practice responsible sex with condoms to avoid any STDS.
• Change out of wet bathing suits and sweaty clothing as soon as possible
• Use a mild laundry detergent
• Regularly performing Kegel exercises at all ages
• Use a glass of water before having coitus and pee immediately after intercourse
• Perform your Pap smear regularly
• Take probiotics to restore the balance of healthy bacteria to your system.

A heart-to-heart message for all the beautiful women out there…

The vagina is an amazing organ. It plays a role in sexual pleasure and is capable of bringing forth life. Still, as you age, your vagina will too. And because with age comes wisdom, you may also feel more comfortable in your own skin — and vagina. You can’t prevent every effect aging has on your vagina, but you can treat it with tender loving care and keep it as healthy as possible.

Consult your doctor, if you have:
• Vaginal burning or pain
• Green or yellow vaginal discharge
• Thick vaginal discharge that resembles cottage cheese
• Vaginal discharge that smells bad
• Unexplained vaginal bleeding
• Painful intercourse
• Persistent vaginal itching
• Any concerns about your vaginal health.
