Imtiaz For Her – The Kingdom’s first credit card designed specifically keeping in mind the needs and requirements of the modern woman– held an awards ceremony to commemorate women who have made a mark in society with their unflinching courage and foresightedness. The popular financial instrument falls under Bahrain Commercial Facilities Company.

The Bahraini Pioneer Ladies award ceremony and conference, held at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, celebrated the stories and contributions of 25 pioneering Bahraini women across different sectors last month.

By organising this large-scale event, Imtiaz For Her celebrated women as positive change agents in Bahrain’s society, and shed light on their rich journey and achievements to lead and influence the younger generation to pursue their ambitions and goals.

During the opening ceremony, the CEO of Bahrain Commercial Facilities Company, Dr Adel Hubail, stated that through different historical periods, Bahraini women have contributed to the formation of Bahrain’s history and the creation of national identity till today.

Dr Adel Hubail
“The role of women and the family in building a modern society has evolved. The reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa came to establish and prove this role, which provides a vision and mission to preserve the role of women and the family in building a modern society.

The imagination and ambition of Bahrain Commercial Facilities Company to design a financial product goes beyond its commercial objectives and focuses mainly on the creation of a lifestyle tool empowering women, enabling them to explore their sources of strength and inspire the young.

The female clientele of Imtiaz For Her is a key factor in supporting the success story of this product, and has led to the gathering of pioneering ladies on a common platform spearheaded by Bahrain Commercial Facilities Company.”

The Pioneering Ceremony and Conference comes in the context of what was achieved last year at the Women’s Power Summit 2018, which was attended by more than 500 Bahraini women.

The event paid tribute to those trailblazing women who have passed away, as well as those present. The contributions of women leaders in various fields and across different socio-economic conditions were lauded as a source of pride and inspiration. Dr Hubail added that it should be noted that the modernisation of Bahraini society has reflected mainly on those pioneers and their successors, and that the Pioneers Ceremony celebrated the ones who innovated and enlightened in their respective fields. He concluded his speech hoping for a bright future in which women execute their social role responsibly and explore the strengths and opportunities resulting from social, economic and technological transformations.

Dr Fatima Al Balooshi,
The Chairman of the Board of Bahrain Trust Foundation, delivered a speech on behalf of the honorees, expressing her appreciation to Bahrain Commercial Facilities Company for taking the lead in recognising the contributions of Bahraini women to the Kingdom’s prosperity. She also stressed on the active role that women play in the Kingdom of Bahrain thanks to the support she receives from all parties. In her speech, Dr Al Balooshi called all Bahraini women to raise the bar for their dreams, overcome the barrier of fear and reach their ambitions.

The event also included three conferences presented by H.E Shaikha Hala bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Director General of Culture and Arts, Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, who shed light on the role of women when it comes to culture, Ms. Mona AbuSlyman from Saudi Arabia, and social entrepreneur Ms. Hala Kazim from United Arab Emirates, during which she highlighted the importance of self-development and how it can lead to a positive change in each person’s life.
