What’s the best gift you have ever received?
Not one, but two cast iron skillets (Staub and Le Creuset) for Christmas. They had been on my wishlist for a long time but I didn’t get the chance to buy it. Two of my friends surprised me with it. I love to cook and eat steak and this cooking tool is definitely for the win!
Tell us something about yourself that not many people know.
I binge watch home renovation shows and cooking channels. I find both shows very relaxing and satisfying to watch. Home renovators and chefs are hands-down visionaries.
What song is guaranteed to make you dance?
I love old school R&B. Family Affair by Mary J. Blige can definitely make me get on my feet.
What’s the one dessert you absolutely cannot resist?
Apple pie.
What is your dream holiday destination?
Visiting the Finnish Lapland in March where I get to stay in a glass igloo in Kaklaustannen Arctic Resort, drink hot cocoa, chase the Northern Lights and bask in a wonderland of snow. I super love the cold.
Best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Get rid of the negative energy. The aura it brings you not only makes you old but sickly. It is your outlook in life that drives the good things back to you. Positive energy attracts positive things.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I envision myself to be continuously climbing up the career ladder, helping to open new schools and breaking the glass ceiling that race and gender will never be a hindrance towards success.
If you had to pick one, would you go on a mountain or beach holiday? Why?
I would go to a beach holiday. Watching gorgeous sunsets, feeling the sand and water beneath your feet, eating fresh produce from the sea, and enjoying cocktails – what more can you ask for.
