Dandy Salvino, a renowned wedding decorator and designer in Bahrain, reflects on the memorable experience of planning Hetal’s wedding. Having previously worked with Hetal’s family, Dandy was honoured to help her craft a wedding that was both personal and profound.
“My role as Hetal’s wedding decorator and designer went beyond design. I was her guide and support system, ensuring her vision was realised in every detail,” says Dandy. From selecting venues to curating every artistic element, Dandy’s focus was on creating a wedding that reflected Hetal and her groom Dishen’s personalities. “Hetal became more than just a client; she became a friend, and I wanted to ensure her dream wedding came to life flawlessly.”
The design concept for the wedding was deeply inspired by Hetal’s ancestral ties to Bahrain, aiming to blend her family’s legacy with her love for art. “I wanted to weave Hetal’s history and heritage into the celebration,” Dandy explained. One of the key features was the artistic evening, where Hetal and Dishen’s favourite painters were showcased, reflecting their personal styles. The Sangeet was transformed into a “Tapestry of Life,” an installation that celebrated their cultural roots, while the reception evoked the grandeur of Mughal-inspired aesthetics with a contemporary twist.
Blending traditional elements with modern flair posed its challenges. Dandy elaborated, “It’s about understanding the couple’s essence and translating that into design. Balancing cultural authenticity with contemporary style requires a thoughtful approach, ensuring every detail feels purposeful.”
Bahrain itself played a significant role in the wedding’s success. Dandy emphasised the unmatched hospitality of the country, noting that the Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority has made destination weddings seamless and unforgettable. “Bahrain offers a unique canvas for wedding celebrations, with its mix of luxurious venues and warm, welcoming atmosphere.”
Dandy highlighted the country’s rich cultural heritage and modern appeal. “Bahrain is the perfect melting pot of history and innovation, making it an ideal place for weddings that celebrate both tradition and modernity.”
