Liz_OReilly_EdDirIt’s 2016 and I want to wish all our readers a very Happy New Year, made even more so by the arrival of former editor, and still fashion and beauty editor, Fernanda’s baby boy – Welcome Oliver!

It’s very much ‘New Year, New You’ in our office and, in that vein, we’re launching a three-month health and fitness campaign to help you stay on track with those all important New Year’s Resolutions. Check out the coming trends for 2016, and a few we hope will make it to the island before too long.

We’re also taking inspiration from our interviews this month, Yara Salman is succeeding in business at an age when many girls are just finishing university and May Mahmoud is bringing us artisan chocolate that we can actually eat with a clear conscience, could it get any better?

If, like us, the New Year gives you the urge to de-clutter your home then look no further than Ankita Mamgain’s tips in our homes section, I’m thinking of inviting her round to help me sort my closets.

In keeping with our healthy theme this month, Ankita has also come up with a whole host of travel options for holidays that will help you get fitter while enjoying some fabulous locations.

In our Parenting section, Dr Jinan looks at the phenomenon of imaginary friends and tells us they’re really nothing to
worry about.

Alongside all this there’s our regular fashion and beauty pages, the latest styles coming out of Tinsel Town, great products for you to try and I got to check out one of the island’s newest anti-aging treatments for this month’s beauty review.

Hope you enjoy the January edition and, don’t forget, get in touch on social media to let us know what you think.
