Neck Alert

Do you remember the black piece of velvet cloth or ribbon girls used to wear round their necks in the 90s, sometimes holding a brooch or pendant? Well, they are back in a revamped way. Larger versions of the chocker like the one seen on the Emilio Pucci catwalk are hot this season. Other variations, such as the skinny scarf, are also a possibility, wear it with the boyish trend for a perfect match. Another element that emphasises the neck is the turtlenecks that could be spotted on many catwalk shows.

Statement Earring

Another body part that is super trendy right now is the ears. Big and attention-seeking earrings are accessories to bet on. Many tasselled pieces can be found in different accessories stores and Lanvin must have inspired them all. Long and eye-catching earpieces will be seen with some everyday looks but are also great with evening gowns.
Ear-cuffs are another super trendy element. They have been around for a while and it seems they came to stay.

Exquisite Heels

An open-closet with rows of shoes is every girl’s dream and a new pair to be added to this imaginary collection would never be an issue. For this season pick a pair where the eye-catching attention goes to the heels. High-heeled or medium-heeled shoes with the heels embellished with beads or, for ultimate impact, deconstructed like Salvatore Ferragamo’s new collection. Unusual elements can also be applied to the heels such as in Alberto Guardiani’s creations.

Patchwork Scenario

A mix and match of textures, colours and fabrics are stitched together for striking effect. Adding an accessory that brings a lot of information, in the way it all blends harmoniously, is a smart move to spice up any boring outfit. Best worn with solid pieces, this trend can transform your wardrobe. However if you feel bold enough, try to experiment and wear it with patterned clothes.
