The 68th Cannes Film Festival in France showcased celebrities wearing beautiful (and sometimes not that glorious) gowns at its many happenings. Woman This Month picked its favourite frocks. Check them out!

Wearing a rich emerald Prada gown, the actress attended the premiere of her new movie Youth held during the festival. The sultry keyhole detail and uneven skirt tailoring are the standout elements in this outfit. However the satin fabric may not be the best choice for an asymmetrical cut. She paired the gown with Chaumet jewellery.
Emma Stone
The 26-year-old actress opted for a black Oscar de La Renta mini dress for the photocall of her latest film Irrational Man directed by Woody Allen. The short voluminous skirt makes her look even cuter, complementing her youth and natural beauty. The delicate lace makes the look a winner.
Cate Blanchett
The Oscar winner opted for a knee-length black dress from Alexander McQueen to attend the photocall for her newest movie Carol. The transparent gown stands out for its beautiful skirt and the incredible jacket the actress decided to lay casually over her shoulders. The see-through top, though, is an unnecessary extra with so many other eye-catching features.
Naomi Watts
The blonde picked a jaw-dropping, beaded Elie Saab dress for the opening ceremony. The soft grey gown is a star by itself, however the actress complemented her deep neckline with an eye-catching necklace. This year’s event saw lots of beauties displaying cleavage in showy necklines. Some of them, like Naomi, did it well, but for others it was a simple case of over-exposure.
Emily Blunt
A white Peter Piloto number was the actress’ choice to attend the photocall for Sicario during this year’s festival. The long-sleeved dress is part of the brand’s autumn 2015 collection. Colourful embellishments add oomph to this mid-calf dress, making it super stylish. A simple but smart choice for a daytime event. The suede sandals from Jimmy Choo complement the look.

The French actress wore a Zuhair Murad spring 2015 couture piece to show of her beauty at the premiere of Inside Out. The gold beaded gown was paired with a gold leaf belt. This kind of gown is an easy pick to impress without much effort. The glamour is in the dress, so make-up and hair can be kept as simple as possible.
