“I’m a stylist, so I’m accustomed to using all sorts of brands that are not available here in Bahrain. With FMH, I wanted to offer fashion-conscious women something different to the average shopping experience,” explains Dutch/British owner Stella. “I also help women who are unsure how to style themselves — which is not something to be ashamed of!”
This is perhaps the most exciting element of the company as the team provides personal shopping and styling services. They will come to your home with a collection of clothing customised to your needs, likes and requirements. The fashion experts will help dress you for an event or occasion in a complete look that both fits and suits you.
“If a client wants advice on how to add a certain item to their wardrobe, we pay a visit and show her how to use the item with the things she already has,” adds Stella.
Diversity is obvious within the company’s collection. Among the many brands available are celebrity favourites, Camilla and Marc, and arty Swedish label, House of Dagmar. The store’s bestseller so far has been the eccentric jewellery line by Mercedes Salazar.
“I try to get a mix of eclectic and simple pieces within different price ranges. The store offers something I would like, my mother would like or even a 13-year-old would like,” says Stella.
