Eau Natural

This season, home interior stores have been bursting with natural furnishing collections, which derive their inspiration from nature and allows us to bring the ‘outside’ indoors.

A constant classic, we can expect this natural trend to continue into autumn, where raw and rustic pieces feature predominantly in stores around town. The popularity of this theme is no surprise; we garner a sense of comfort from feeling at home when surrounded by the best that nature has to offer. Whether it is pieces made from stone or wood, we often find room for a slice of nature in our living space.

For a small country, Bahrain is not lacking in the home furnishing department. There are a huge variety of stores to choose from, with many located in the Seef area. And each seems to have fully encapsulated the natural trend.

Marina Exotic Home Interiors, for instance, boasts an array of rustic pieces to add a touch of authenticity to our living space. One such item is a low coffee table, elevated on metal legs, but otherwise constructed entirely from untreated wood. Also in abundance are lanterns, differing in both size and style, which can be filled with candles to provide natural light.

The One and The Home Store are great for large-scale furniture items; both offer complete bedroom and dining sets that utilise neutral colours, where every essential piece is fashioned from raw oak. At The One you also will find a huge range of faux flowers, should you wish to add an additional natural touch, but without all of the watering!

Roche Bobois has cleverly put a twist on this theme by incorporating earthy colours. A retro-style desk, although still crafted from wood, features green and blue painted segments to add a splash of colour to your room.

Small furnishings, big effects
BoConcept has transferred the natural trend onto accessories. Cushions featuring earthy animal prints and images are fun and will add a pop of quirkiness where required. British-brand Laura Ashley has some great options such as a large shallow vase, ideal for placing in the centre of your dining table and filling with wild flowers. Adding some stone-textured items offers a natural material alternative to wood.

As well, at Flamant you will find a whole collection of wooden decoration pieces to further enhance your rooms. Bowls, vases and pots are all constructed from knotted and rough wood.
