Canadian rapper and vocalist Drake’s Kiki song has taken the world by storm with thousands posting videos on social media of the famous ‘Kiki challenge’. Just when we thought Drake must have had enough media attention, along comes a new story about Drake’s love life that’s creating waves all over, especially in India.
According to reports, it all started when 25-year-old Athiya Shetty, daughter of Indian movie star Suniel Shetty took to Instagram to wish her father on his birthday. The interaction that followed has since created a buzz on the Internet and just refuses to die down.
While several Bollywood celebrities responded by posting their wishes in response to Athiya’s birthday greeting, it was Canadian rapper Drake, who raised eyebrows, by not only “loving” the photo but also leaving a comment that read, “Legend.” Just when fans were trying to figure how the two happened to know each other, Athiya replied warmly to Drake’s comment with a blue heart.
Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan, Athiya’s friend, added to the exciting developments by posting, “@athiyashetty who knew you were kiki [sic].” To which, “Drake replied, “Titi do you love me? (Mubarakan remix)”. While Titi seemed to be an obvious take on Athiya’s name, “Mubarakan” was a reference to Athiya’s first Bollywood movie as a lead actress.
Unconfirmed reports suggest Drake met Athiya in Los Angeles, the two bonded really well and began following each other on Instagram. Drake’s comment on Athiya’s post has intrigued and delighted fans who are hoping there is another fairytale romance brewing after the surprise engagement of Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra.
