December means my favourite time of the year is fast approaching and putting together this month’s issue has given me the ideal opportunity to indulge my, usually quite subdued, Christmas fever.

Liz_OReilly_Editorial_DirectorTo get you into the festive spirit, our Gift Guide showcases more than 60 great pressie ideas to cater for everyone from Great Aunt Flo to the neighbour’s cat. And we’ve also gone a bit Christmas crazy elsewhere with a fab selection of Yuletide markets in the travel pages, a whole range of fun Christmas-themed goodies from me in editor’s choice, seasonal style in Get the Look and Homes plus ideas to help parents make the most of the season.

Our interviewees this month are a group of inspiring women. Mona Almoayyed chats to Apple Sharma about social conscience, breaking the glass ceiling and making the influential Forbes Middle East List of Most Influential Arab Women again. Nada Kazim gives Behnaz Sanjana the lowdown on the work of the Aisha Yateem Family Couselling Centre, which helps abused women. And designer Frances Stafford shows off items from her brand new label’s launch collection.

For those looking to splash out over the coming weeks, you’ll find tips on buying gold and diamonds and in our food pages there are recipes to try and Puja Tiwari’s thoughts on a very chic new dining venue.
In the wellbeing pages there are hints on giving up the evil weed, a subject close to my heart – as I write this I am almost five days smoke-free and feeling optimistic. And, as always, we have round-ups of the latest fashion, style and beauty news to keep you bang up to date.

Hope you have as much fun reading our festive issue as we’ve had putting it together and wishing you a very, Merry Christmas from all at Woman This Month.
