Whether you’re a skincare addict or a casual beauty observer, there’s no doubt that we all want to look our best. WTM has scouted out the latest new treatments to help in that quest.

For centuries, women have painstakingly undergone treatments to enhance and maintain their beauty. Each year, innovative, outlandish beauty options are introduced, setting a new craze that adds to the billion-dollar industry. Having passed the fad of bird poo and leech facials, 2016 is panning out to be a rather interesting year for beauty trends.

Multi masking
Painting a pretty beauty mask collage on your face to target all your skin issues has become a favourite fad among beauty enthusiasts. A very few of us have consistently ‘normal’ skin all over the face. The T-zone tends to be a bit oilier, whereas cheeks require more hydrating and collagen boosting products. Similarly, the delicate area around the eyes requires more retinol to fight fine lines and wrinkles. Incorporating four or five individual products for the skin will give you the benefits of multiple beauty sessions in one sitting.

Camouflage Tatoo

Those affected with missing skin pigment can now have their patches tattooed to disguise a scar or area that is missing colour. It is a specialised area of permanent cosmetics that falls under the category of medical tattooing. These procedures require advanced knowledge, training, skills and experience in permanent cosmetics as well as an artistic eye for colour.

Fire Facial

This is the hottest new beauty treatment for women in pursuit of youthful skin. A terrifying fire facial is being performed in beauty salons all over Asia. In this flaming facial, open flames are used to stimulate cell regeneration and address dullness, sagging and wrinkles.

The therapists apply a towel soaked in alcohol and a so-called ‘special elixir’ to the skin before setting fire to the area. The treatment claims to also cure everything from obesity to the common cold. Don’t try this one at home folks.
