Liz_OReilly_Editorial_DirectorIt’s that time of year again when the catwalk styles of the world’s various fashion weeks start to make their way into the shops. And, though I can’t help thinking many of the high-fashion looks bear little or no resemblance to things us mere mortals would wear, I do find the new season’s looks exciting. So I’m always keen to see what our fashion and beauty editor Fernanda Langhammer flags as the latest trends and how she comes up with ways that we can adapt them for our own wardrobes. I feel a shopping spree coming on.

Fashion’s all about colour and pattern and those are two areas dear to the heart of artist Sabine Algosaibi. Ankita went to meet her in her rainbow-hued home to learn about her inspiration.

Our other interviews this month are Anna-Maria Dowling, who told Behnaz Sanjana how she climbed the ladder to become Bahrain’s first female hotel general manager, and Abrar Darwish who’s launched an innovative child development centre for youngsters with communication difficulties.

In the wellness section Behnaz tackles a subject that affects many new mums, but is rarely spoken of – the effects of pregnancy on women’s bodies.

We know lots of our readers are mums and, since we’re always keen to engage with you ladies, I’m very excited to tell you we’re launching a series of special events where mums and kids can get together, have fun and meet new friends. This is just the first of several of new developments we’re planning for the coming months. Find out more on page 73.

There’s loads more to see in this month’s magazine, I hope you enjoy reading it as much as we’ve enjoyed putting it together.

Enjoy!
