Tracksuits aren’t just for the gym this season as everyone from Victoria Beckham to Versus includes some luxurious sports-inspired items into their Spring/Summer collections. Time to get some high-tops.

On Your Marks, Get Set, Go!

The sports luxe trend has been a bit of a recurring feature on the runways of the last couple of years. The usual suspects have climbed aboard the treadmill — cosier, more casual brands such as Acne and Day Birger et Mikkelsen have, predictably, brought out jersey dresses, racerback tops and workout shorts.

However, there are a fair few haute-couture brands that have also seen the need for speed. Victoria Beckham, fast becoming fashion’s darling, debuted a whole collection loosely fitted around the sports luxe theme. Unexpectedly, even Vera Wang’s Spring collection had a hint of track and field about it, confirming that the fashion giants never miss a trick.

Look out for speed stripes and all sorts of neoprene creations, from swimsuits to work tops. One of the biggest features of the sports luxe look has got to be the high-heeled high-top. Everyone from Marc Jacobs to Acne is getting in on the game.
